A philosopher and historian of science who specializes in the history and philosophy of biology.

I’m currently a Complexity Fellow at the Santa Fe Institute where I focus on my research projects:

Humans, Animals, and Machines: Behavior in the Information Age

I am also a consulting bioethicist at the Native BioData Consortium.

In Fall 2024, I will begin an assistant professorship at Arizona State University’s School of Complex Adaptive Systems.
